Dear Saints,

“The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.” Isaiah 57:1

This notice of Triumphant Transition is issued in accordance with the directive of our Chief Overseer and Senior Bishop, Bishop Dr. Clary K. Butler, Sr.

God, in His infinite wisdom, has called home His devoted servant, State Elder Carrie M. Grimes, the longest-serving Pastor of Atlanta for over 25 years and a General Elder in Tennessee and Georgia.

State Elder Carrie M. Grimes was a dedicated leader, pastor, and servant of God. She faithfully served the church with distinction, mentoring many clergy and younger ministers and impacting lives throughout the Diocese and the General Church. Her unwavering commitment to God’s work and her selfless service were evident in every role she held. We honor her life and legacy, and ask for your continued prayers and support for the Grimes family during this time of bereavement.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”Psalm 116:15
